The Best Place for Argentinean Steak

In Argentina, Grill on October 1, 2009 at 4:42 pm

Argentinean steakIt’s not a secret. Argentina has the best steaks in the world. You’re really missing the point if you’re not getting any beef here. So while I was scouring through all the parrilladas in Buenos Aires, I found myself constantly reminiscing that dinner we had at the best Argentinean steakhouse in town.

I’m not exaggerating, La Pérgola de San Telmo comes close to being perfect. Tender sirloin grilled to perfection. Don’t get me started on the wine. Mendoza wines are undoubtedly no. 1 in the country, La Pérgola serves up some excellent ones.

For 40Pesos ($12/8euros), you can savor a  set dinner that includes a steak, a glass of wine and salad.

Sitting on its veranda, you can catch a rather artistic view of Parque Dorrego. At 8.30pm every night, there is a tango performance on the restaurant’s ground floor.
